Yasuaki SHINOHARA (篠原 靖明)

PhD in Speech, Hearing and Phonetic Sciences (University College London)
Associate Professor at Waseda University, Tokyo JAPAN

He completed his PhD in Speech, Hearing and Phonetic Sciences at University College London in 2014. After having worked at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda Univeristy from 2014 to 2017, he moved to the Faculty of Commerce in the same university. He has been conducting research in cross-language speech perception and production as well as teaching Phonetics and English courses.

Research Interests:
- Crosslinguistic speech perception and production
- Neural indices of phonetic perception and phoneme recognition
- Second-language (L2) phonetic training and chronological age effects
- Language development and disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorders)
